How To Keep Toilet Bowl Ring Free

The best way to keep your toilet bowl ring free is to prevent it from happening in the first place. You may be thinking, is that even possible? Before I get to the solution of how to keep your toilet bowl ring free, let’s first address what causes that dark ring in your toilet bowl.

What is that dark ring in my toilet bowl?

That dark looking ring in your toilet bowl is usually produced by a combination of bacteria, mold, mildew, fungi, and hard water build-up. Any wet environment will attract mold and mildew under normal circumstances. If you have pink or orange in your toilet bowl, that is probably bacteria. The darker orange color is probably rust. To add to this, your hard water build-up causes pitting to your toilet bowl finish over time. This makes the toilet bowl ring even harder to remove and the ring appears sooner after you clean it.

We installed 2 new Toto Entrada toilets about 6 years ago and have always used the typical cleaning products to clean the toilet bowl rings in both of our bathrooms. Our cleaners would do a great job visually so we were willing to put up with using those cleaning products.

For us, it would usually take about 2 weeks since cleaning the toilet bowls when the dark rings would reappear again. My next-door neighbor told me he had recently installed 2 brand new toilets in his home and he gets the dark rings appearing in just a week! I was very surprised since there should be no hard water pitting so soon.

Would a water softener prevent the toilet bowl ring?

I have heard that having a salt-based water softener does not prevent a toilet bowl ring. So spending hundreds to thousands of dollars for a water softener system along with the maintenance just to prevent toilet bowl rings would be a total waste of money. I also heard the negative things like the salt used goes to the environment and the water is not drinkable due to the salty taste, which would then require another filter to remove the salt taste.

Is there a permanent and affordable solution to prevent this problem?

YES! We heard that having a magnetic water system would help because it is a descaler, prevents hard water build-up, and also has antibacterial properties so we put it to the test.

Before installing the magnetic water system we noticed that our guest bathroom was beginning to show a hard water stain. After just a few days of using the magnetic water, the hard water stain completely disappeared! We were both surprised to see this actually working without any scrubbing or cleaning!

The main toilet we use had to be cleaned before the magnetic water system but that was expected since there was more hard water pitting because it was used more often. Amazingly since using the magnetic water system, that toilet has also stayed clean with just the occasional wipe with some toilet paper, again, no scrubbing or chemicals used.

So we kept on testing this innovative technology to see how long it would last. So far, it’s been 1 month, and still no toilet ring on both toilets! The picture shown above is our main toilet after 1 month of use.

Learn the other benefits of a magnetic water system. You will be very surprised at the very low cost and zero maintenance. Try this amazing magnetic water technology to keep your toilet bowl ring-free!
